      Re: Estate

Sehr geehrte Dr. Bacher:

Thank you for your two short faxes while you were at the conference in Washington, D.C. It is a shame that we did not get to speak while you were at the conference, and I hope that another opportunity will arise in the near future when we can meet each other.

I hope that by now you have received the copies of documents I sent you on November 25, 1998.  Although we have agreed to wait for you to send us the entire research file, if the last will and testament of Adele Bloch-Bauer and any related "Erklärung" of Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer have been retrieved, I would appreciate receiving copies by facsimile (1-213-473-2222) as soon as possible.

I have read with interest the recent press reports on the first meeting of the Beirat led by Dr. Rudolf Wran. At your earliest convenience, I would very much appreciate hearing from you or Dr. Wran regarding your anticipated time-table and the procedures that will be followed with respect to the Bloch-Bauer estate, including whether any portion of the estate will be considered at the January 20, 1999 meeting of the Beirat.

     Very truly yours,

     E. Randol Schoenberg
